BWB Training Retreat: Boulder, CO, August 21-22

We’ll be offering a Bible Workbench Training Retreat later this month in Boulder Colorado.

On this retreat weekend, we will work with a biblical narrative and examine its richness using the approach developed by The Educational Center. Our method of teaching and learning is called maieutic education (pronounced my-yoo-tic) from the Greek word for “midwife.” The maieutic method honors the truth rising from our own experience as well as our collective or archetypal experiences.

Using visual art, film, literature and music we will explore John 20: 1-18 (Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb) and pose such questions as:

  • What is going on between the unrecognized Jesus and Mary?
  • What are the tombs that hold the dead hopes and dreams of a nation? A church? An institution? A family?
  • When death claims our dreams and hopes, how do we often misunderstand or fail to recognize the new life that is trying to emerge?

Join us for a transformative experience!
